Dear Friends,

Akithma (born in Jeonju, South Korea) attended Girls' High School, Mount Lavinia. She enjoys reading, singing, and dancing in the traditional Sri Lankan style, and she is also a kathak dance expert. She is continuing her Korean language studies at Open University of Sri Lanka.

Nethmi is a student at Panadura Balika Maha Vidyalaya in Sri Lanka. She likes to read, sing, and dance in the traditional Sri Lankan style, and she is also an expert in baratha natyam. She is continuing her studies in business finance at a public university in Sri Lanka.

The Sinhala New Year begins on April 14, 2023, for both Sinhalese and Tamils. When the sun transits from Meena Rashiya (the house of Pisces) into Mesha Rashiya (the house of Aries), the Sinhalese New Year begins. (the house of Aries). It's the last day of spring and the end of the harvest season. Sinhalese and Tamil people celebrate the new year by honouring their elders, cultivating closer bonds with friends and family, engaging in spiritual practices, and participating in traditional games.

Wishing you a Happy Sinhala New Year!
