A layperson should be concerned about the damages he or she may incur as a result of fire, floods, kings, thieves, or dissatisfied heirs during the Second Pattakamma stage. Buddhist followers should not wait until they experience losses or problems; instead, they should ensure that they are strong enough to deal with losses before they occur.
