(Sayings of the Dhamma)

Appamāda
(Diligence)

25. Uṭṭhānena'ppamādena,
Through effort and diligence,

Saṁyamena damena ca;

Restraint, and self-control

Dīpaṁ kayirātha medhāvī,

The wise person can become an island

Yaṁ ogho nā'bhikīrati.
No flood will overwhelm.
