BHANTE'S NEW BOOK RELEASE!   8 BUDDHIST TIPS TO OVERCOME COVID-19 FEAR ,  By Bhante Dr. Gangodawila Chandima,   Released on April 23 rd, 2020. 8 BUDDHIST TIPS TO OVERCOME COVID-19 FEAR Dear Friends, I am excited to announce that my English book, " 8 Buddhist Tips to Overcome COVID-19 Fear ," was published on Google Play, on April 23rd, 2020. This is a much anticipated book, after I published a book in Japanese about the same current topic. I hope this addition will bring practical insights to English speakers, as it has to Japanese speakers. Since COVID-19 has been a hot topic, it was my contemplation that the fears and anxieties associated with COVID-19, should be addressed with Buddhist teachings in a careful manner. Most people are in limbo about science and spirituality. They are not happy with each other during this dire situation. Therefore, writing an English book to overcome COVID-19 fear, was a desideratum for me. May this book be a

8 BUDDHIST TIPS TO OVERCOME COVID-19 FEAR(JAPANESE EDITION)

BHANTE'S NEW BOOK RELEASE! 『 新型コロナウイルスへの不安と恐れを乗り越える8つのポイント 』 チャンディマ・ガンゴダウィラ長老,   Ven. Dr. Chandima Gangodawila. Released on April 07th, 2020,  Sukhi Hotu, Tokyo, Japan. Dear Friends, I’m excited to announce that my fifth Japanese book “ 8 Buddhist Tips to Overcome Covid-19 Fear,” (Japanese Edition) was published on  Google Play  and  Rakuten books  today, April 07th, 2020. An impeccable Japanese translation was provided by esteemed author, Yoshiko. I am honoured to add this new addition to the Japanese readership. The readership has been dealing with Covid-19 since the beginning, and at different stages. I also want to note that Buddhism has no "magic" in its teachings. It has insights. The teachings are for understanding the causes of any issues, and systematically treating it with deep understanding. As I have reiterated several times, the Buddhist teachings are at a deep level for understanding the current situation. It can

Please explain to me the connection between Jealousy and patience

If we remove jealousy from our lives, it takes with it almost all of the bad things;  If we remove patience from our lives, it takes with it almost all of the good.

How to Let Go of Resentment and Forgive My Ex?

I think the key to forgiving him is to realize that he is not the  same collection of cells today as he was in the past. So in effect,  you are avoiding forgiving his previous self, which may as well be another person, and for what purpose? That person from the past (the  previous him) does not exist, so you are holding a grudge against a  nonexistent thing - and why? When there are so many beautiful things and  experiences in the present, the only posture  to take toward the past is one of radical (true) forgiveness. The past  will never change, so by all means learn from your decisions, but leave  the past in the past where it belongs. As this is an unskillful quality  (not being able to forgive yourself) that has arisen, Buddha recommends  the right course of action is to abandon it, as shown in the four right  exertions. What is Yoniso Manasikāra (Appropriate Attention)?

Buddha tells us how to practice  yoniso manasikāra , or appropriate attention. The first habit to develop is  sati , or focusing your attention -- but this alone is not enough. The second habit is  sampajañña , or being aware of the movements of your thoughts and your body -- but even  sati  and  sampajañña  together are not enough. It is not until you have  ātāpi  (four right exertions), or the persistence in continuously developing skillful habits, abandoning unskillful ones, generate desire for the non-emerged skillful habits and produce the need for the non-emerging unskillful ones, that you may exhibit  yoniso manasikāra .  Yoniso manasikāra  leads one to wisdom/Insight ( paññā ).
