I’m excited to announce that my tenth Japanese book『セルフケア:ブッダが教えた〈心〉と〈言葉〉と〈身体〉のととのえ方』 | The Power of Transformative Self-Care: A Buddhist Guide to Breaking Free of Self-Sabotage, (Japanese) was published on Amazon on May 6, 2021. An impeccable Japanese translation was provided by the esteemed author, Yoshiko.
In this new book, I have presented how the Buddha teaches us to practice self-care to stay away from self-sabotage. The “Attarakkhita Sutta” on which I reflect my writing here lucidly exhibits that it is exclusively by dealing with actions, speech, and mind, one can truly tap into self-care. Albeit the mainstream idea to do self-care implies some outside minding to the body and mind, the Buddhist idea elucidates that every one of our explanations behind self-sabotage/damage emerges from a sufficient self-management of our daily actions, speech, and mind. I also talk about how conventional self (atta) goes in tandem with the ultimate non-self (anatta) in Buddhism.
