3. Evaṁ dadanti ñātīnaṁ,
Thus, give to their departed relatives,
the departed relatives who have assembledye honti anukampakā;
those who are compassionateSuciṁ paṇītaṁ kālena,
at the right time, pure, excellent,kappiyaṁ pānabhojanaṁ.
suitable drink and food.
4. Idaṁ vo ñātīnaṁ hotu,
Thinking: “May this go to our relatives,4. Idaṁ vo ñātīnaṁ hotu,
sukhitā hontu ñātayo;
may our relatives be happy!” Te ca tattha samāgantvā,
Those who have gatheredñātipetā samāgatā.
5. Pahūte annapānamhi,
around the food and drink,sakkaccaṁ anumodare;
respectfully offer their thanks:Ciraṁ jīvantu no ñātī,
saying: “ May our relatives live long!yesaṁ hetu labhāmase.
Those to whom we owe this gain,
