58. Yathā saṅkāra dhānasmiṁ,
Just as in a heap of rubbish,
Ujjhitasmiṁ mahāpathe;
thrown by the roadside,
Padumaṁ tattha jāyetha,
a lotus may bloom—
Sucigandhaṁ manoramaṁ.
fragrant and beautiful—
59. Evaṁ saṅkāra bhūtesu,
So among the blinded,
Andhabhūte puthujjane;
ordinary, heedless folk,
Atirocati paññāya,
