(Sayings of the Dhamma)

Bāla
(Unwise)

64. Yāva jīvampi ce bālo
Even if an unwise person, for his/her entire life

Paṇḍitaṃ payirupāsati;
associates with a wise person;

Na so dhammaṃ vijānāti,
He/she does not understand the Dhamma,

Dabbī sūparasaṃ yathā.
Just as a spoon does not know the taste of soup.
